Mr. Xenofon Nickitas, Chairman of the Board of Directors of EFG Eurobank Ergasias for the last ten years, has decided to retire from the Bank’s Board of Directors, upon completion of the current term of the Board at the forthcoming Annual General Meeting.
Mr. Xenofon Nickitas had an active role for 61 years in the Greek banking sector, having served as Chairman of Ergasias Bank and Vice-Chairman of American Express Bank. With his knowledge and experience, he contributed significantly to the smooth integration of Ergasias Bank and Eurobank EFG as well as to the success of our Group.
He actively participated in various committees and boards of the Bank in critical areas, contributing to the smooth and efficient operation and development of the Bank. The Bank would like to express to the retiring Chairman its warmest appreciation for his long-lasting and valuable contribution to the Bank’s growth and progress.
Mr. Eythimios Christodoulou will be nominated for thevacating position of non- executive Chairman of the Bank’s Board of Directors at the forthcoming Annual General Meeting that will take place in June 2010.
Mr. Ε.Christodoulou, with extensive involvement in the economic and political life of our country and important European and International presence, served as Minister of Finance and Member of the European Parliament, Governor of the Bank of Greece and the National Bank of Greece, General Manager of the National Investment Bank for Industrial Development (E.T.E.B.A.), as well as Chairman of the Hellenic Bank Association. Moreover, he served as Chairman of the Hellenic Petroleum and Olympic Airlines.
